What We Do

  1. Local planning: We can comment on planning applications within our parish and provide feedback to the local planning authority.
  2. Local amenities: We maintain and manage community facilities such as the cemetary and community lawns.
  3. Environment: We work to maintain community footpaths, rights of way, and other local amenities, ensuring the parish remains clean and tidy.
  4. While it’s not in our remit to organise local events, we can make funding available to support events which bring the community together.
  5. Consultation and representation: We can engage with residents and act as a voice for the local community to higher authorities.
  6. Communication and information: We will aim to keep you informed about local issues and activities through a printed newsletter, the village notice board, and this website.
  7. Financial management: Setting an annual budget for Parish Council activities, including managing income and expenditure, and ensuring value for money in delivering services.
  8. Liaison with other authorities: Collaborating with other local authorities, such as the district council, county council, and police, to ensure coordinated local governance.

As a public body, we are required to adhere to local governance rules and regulations – which includes minuting our public meetings.
