South Kesteven District has shared important information regarding National Grid’s proposals that will impact the local area.
National Grid has introduced plans for approximately 37½ miles (60 km) of new 400 kV (400,000 volt) overhead power lines from Lincolnshire to Leicestershire. The preferred corridor would create a path of pylons through southern Aveland that would be:
- 50 meters (165 feet) high
- Spaced 300 meters (328 yards) apart
- Currently planned to cross the A15 near Haconby and Stainfield
The construction work is likely to cause disruption, and the pylons will permanently alter our local views. There is also potential that if residents raise concerns about the current route, an alternative path could bring the pylons closer to our village.
The Stage 1 Consultation is currently open but closes on 6th August 2025.
